The story behind Gnomzie
Three generations.
One belief in human potential.
Gnomzie was founded by mother-daughter team Charlotte Danielsson and Brittany Erkeneff, bringing together decades of experience in technology innovation, entrepreneurship, education, and learning design—and a shared belief in the importance of developing human potential.
A world of possibility. A personal beginning.Opportunity, across generations
For Charlotte, the importance of opportunity is deeply personal. Her father completed seventh grade and her mother ninth grade. Charlotte became the first in her family to attend college, earning a BA in Political Science and Economics from UC Berkeley and later a Juris Doctorate from Stanford.
Charlotte went on to spend more than 27 years working with technology companies and startups, alongside leadership in AI innovation and entrepreneurship. She brings a deep understanding of emerging technology and how it is transforming the capabilities people need for the future.
Charlotte’s other child is a Berkeley Haas graduate and polyglot who speaks 14 languages. Her family’s experiences bring a personal perspective to Gnomzie’s ambition: helping young people pursue their interests deeply and develop the capabilities to shape their own futures.
Learning, close to home
For Brittany, the future of learning is both a professional passion and a personal concern. An educator and learning-design leader with a bachelor’s degree in Education Science from UC Irvine and a Master of Education from Johns Hopkins University, her experience spans classroom teaching, youth workforce development, STEM education, and creating engaging learning experiences. She brings an understanding of how young people learn, what motivates them, and how thoughtful educational design can support their development.
As the mother of two daughters, Brittany also thinks about what it will mean for children to grow up in a world where AI can increasingly answer questions, solve problems, and create on their behalf.
That family connection brings the mission close to home. Gnomzie is being built for a generation growing up alongside increasingly intelligent technology—a generation that deserves opportunities to develop its own curiosity, creativity, judgment, and independent thinking.
Charlotte and Brittany share a conviction:
“The next generation shouldn’t simply adapt to a world transformed by AI. They deserve the capabilities to lead and shape that world—and their own futures.”
That’s why they’re building Gnomzie: to make developing these essential human capabilities an experience young people genuinely want to pursue—through curiosity, discovery, creativity, and adventure.
