For parents
Your child’s future needs more than answers.
AI is transforming how we learn, work, and solve problems. As increasingly powerful technology takes on more cognitive tasks, young people will need more than the ability to recite information or produce the right answer.

Curiosity is the beginning.Human thinking. Extraordinary possibilities.
Not just what you know.
How you think.
They’ll need to question assumptions, evaluate evidence, think creatively, make sound judgments, and take initiative.
That’s why we’re building Gnomzie.
Gnomzie is pioneering Cognitive Development Technology (CDT), designed to develop these essential human capabilities through immersive, AI-powered experiences that young people genuinely want to explore.
Rather than giving children answers or doing the thinking for them, Gnomzie creates opportunities for them to investigate, reason, experiment, create, and decide.
Because preparing children for an AI-powered future isn’t just about teaching them to use AI. It’s about helping them develop the capabilities to thrive alongside it.
Questions, answered
A few things you might be wondering.
What is Cognitive Development Technology?
CDT is Gnomzie’s approach to using AI to strengthen human thinking. It focuses on intentionally developing higher-order human capabilities rather than primarily delivering knowledge, tutoring, or answers. The central premise is that as AI and eventually AGI make information, analysis, and production increasingly abundant, human advantage will depend more heavily on the ability to think independently, frame problems, judge evidence, question assumptions, make decisions, create, collaborate, and act with agency.
Who is Gnomzie for?
We’re creating Gnomzie for middle school and high school students, approximately ages 12–18. Quests begin with interests and intriguing situations, giving young people a reason to explore voluntarily.
How does Gnomzie develop thinking?
Gnomzie is being built around Cognitive Development Technology (CDT), an approach designed to develop distinct thinking capabilities through engaging experiences.
Different quests create opportunities to exercise different capabilities. These include asking meaningful questions, defining problems, evaluating evidence, understanding cause and effect, considering other perspectives, generating original ideas, making decisions under uncertainty, reflecting on your thinking, and taking initiative.
Rather than focusing only on whether a young person reaches the right answer, Gnomzie is designed around the thinking they do along the way.
Our goal is to create increasingly personalized experiences that challenge young people to develop these capabilities through exploration, investigation, and creation.
Will Gnomzie do the thinking for my child?
No. Gnomzie is designed around a different approach to AI. AI helps create engaging worlds, characters, and challenges, but the important thinking remains with your child. They investigate evidence, consider possibilities, develop ideas, and make their own decisions.
What role does AI play?
AI helps create and support the experience. We design the important moments so young people investigate, question, reason, and decide for themselves. Gnomzie is a curious companion who encourages exploration and original ideas.
Are the quests based on reality?
Each quest introduces real world subjects and concepts with the goal of allowing youth to explore lots of different topics to spark their curiosity, grow their sense of wonder and ignite a love of genuine learning and intellectual curiosity. In some quests, we combine different academic disciplines for the purpose of having them find new ways to connect different ideas. However, our primary purpose is to expand and deepen cognition not teach subject matter.
